Dear Parent,
It's sad but true. We know you are busy. But when these months and years of childhood are past, all you will have left are the photographs to remember. You'll certainly never remember what the children looked like without them. Don't you feel your child is worth it? Of course you do!
It's okay, you can admit it. You have waited a long time for your new baby. You really do want the portraits to look fantastic, don't you? From a new parent's point of view, nothing will make you happier, and prouder, than showing off portraits of your baby. And nothing will disappoint you more than a terrible photograph of your newborn.
On This Web Page, We Are Going To Share With You Some Of The Secrets You Absolutely Must Know About Getting Portraits That Really Show Your Baby's Personality!
Think about this a moment. Your newborn is going to change more in his or her first year than at any other time. You may have already started to notice those changes. Our Baby Plan is designed to help you remember what your baby was like at each of those precious stages.
Research has shown us that parents of newborns are looking for two major things:
- They want portraits that really show their baby's personality, and…
- They also want a portrait that has some kind of artistic quality. They want the photograph itself to look fantastic, to have a three dimensional look about it, to have a quality to the light that seems to take your eyes right to the baby's face. They want the portrait to have "Punch".
By Punch, I mean that when your family and friends look at your baby's portraits, they say "Wow! What a gorgeous baby!"
And We Are Going To Do Everything We Can To Help Your Baby's Portraits Have That Special "PUNCH!"
Why? Because we love photographing babies! We do it with a passion, and we want your baby to look really, really good!

"Art,
Thank you so much for the beautiful portraits of our children. We love the casual atmosphere and the simple backgrounds and props that allow the focus to be right on the baby. You capture so many faces and expressions — it's just so sweet! These little ones truly are a gift from God, but they grow so fast. Thanks again for helping us to remember all these special times. We will cherish the portraits forever."

Here Are The Six Secrets That You Must Know to Guarantee Beautiful Baby Portraits!
Let's go through the six secrets that are so important when it comes to your baby's portraits.
These are things that I have learned through years of working with babies on a daily basis. And, they are things the parents themselves have told me. Most of them seem obvious, but sometimes we just don't think about these things. Please read carefully!
Secret #1 Is So Vital That It Seems Obvious
Secret #1 is choosing a photographer who works by appointment only. This is so vitally crucial, especially when dealing with babies. If you have not already noticed, your newborn has a schedule. She likes to take naps at certain times, and likes to be fed at certain times, or all the time. Now what happens when your baby is fussy or hungry? You guessed it, cranky baby! Now, here is something you may not have thought about - your time is valuable! Babies require a lot of attention, and your day is busy. When you're not feeding your baby, changing diapers, washing clothes, going to doctor's visits, and keeping up with all of your other household chores, do you really want to waste your valuable time waiting to have your baby's portraits created by a mall studio? With our appointment only system, you are guaranteed a private session, convenient for you and your baby. No waiting, no wasting your time, no chaos, or the stress of listening to other unhappy mom's and babies!
Secret #2 Is So Important In Making Sure Your Baby's Portraits Look Like Your Baby, And Not Like Every Other Baby!
Secret #2 is so huge, but yet, so few people actually realize it, photographers and moms alike. Make sure your photographer is flexible enough to capture your baby's personality. You see, all of the department store and mall studios have a check list, a set routine their photographers HAVE to follow.
Let me explain. Although the department store studios deliver a fine product for the price they charge, their products are what is called a "Loss Leader". A Loss Leader is a low priced product designed to bring you into the store with the hopes that you will purchase enough other items to exceed the loss. So, not only do the department stores not expect to turn a profit from their studios, they are actually expecting to take a loss! To minimize this loss, they hire "photographers" for minimum wage, give them a few hours of training, and a checklist of must take photographs. They don't have the experience, training, or creative license necessary to really capture your baby's personality!
"Okay Art, but what about the mall studios? They are not part of a department store."
Good question! The name of the game there is volume. If you notice, they (mall studios) may have five or six camera areas, where the department stores have one or two. They earn a profit by cranking out as many sessions as they can, while paying their "photographers" as little as possible. So, the same thing happens, they end up with a checklist that they are not allowed to deviate from.
Here at Sundquist Photography, we only have one camera room, and we allow a full hour for you and your baby. If you need to take a break to feed, change, or just comfort your baby, that is no problem. It's so relaxing, you'll actually look forward to coming.
You can bring in anything you like that shows off who your baby really is, even family pets! Art personally creates every portrait, no minimum wage "photographers" here! We have been in business for over 20 years, are family owned, and you will always deal directly with the owner. This is how we can guarantee you will be thrilled with you baby's portraits! Which leads us directly to secret #3…
Secret #3 Is Our "Best In The Business" Guarantee Of Your Baby Portraits!
Make sure your photographer guarantees his work! Babies are unpredictable. But, you already know this. Let's say your baby is not feeling well, and just does not want to smile. No problem, we can reschedule your session, no extra charge. Let's say your baby gets hungry during the session (happens all the time). No problem, we take a break so you can feed him. We even have a private, clean nursing/changing room, with a rocking chair, changing table, and soft music, where you can feed your baby in complete privacy and peace.
All of this is done for one reason. To Guarantee that you will cry "tears of joy" when you see your baby's portraits for the first time. Your baby's portraits will be cherished, and passed down from generation to generation. And, we have an incredible "no nonsense" guarantee that puts you at ease. It's simple, and we mean every word:
- You must be absolutely "thrilled" (not just satisfied, but THRILLED) with the portraits we create for you, even "cry tears of joy" when you see them. If not, you will get every penny back — no questions asked, and no hard feelings either. I will even pay you $20 for wasting your gas!
- We guarantee your experience with us to be hassle-free and stress-free. If you feel we have inconvenienced you in any way, simply return your portraits to us, and we will refund your investment completely.
- Your Portraits Are Guaranteed for Life!
If your portraits are ever lost, stolen, or damaged, for any reason, no matter whose fault it is, they will be replaced for you at no charge to you.
If, for any reason, you don't choose us to be your "baby photographer", that's OK. But please, make ABSOLUTELY SURE your photographer offers this strong of a guarantee. You deserve it, and you deserve to have a photographer who backs up their work by taking all the risk off of you.
Secret #4 Is Vital Important To The Appearance Of Your Baby's Finished Portraits.
Make sure your photographer does artwork to your baby's portrait! This is so important! Baby's often don't have perfect complexions. Now of course, we're not talking about zits and wrinkles at this age. But they do have "binky rash", sometimes flaky skin, etc. And all of these slight imperfections need to be corrected. And we're not talking about color and exposure corrections that should be correct to start with. We are talking about a trained professional investing time to make sure your baby's portraits look their absolute best! The artwork is what removes blemishes, enhances eyes, creates dramatic black and whites or warm sepia toned portraits. It's what makes your finished portraits come to life with a three-dimensional look. It's what gives your baby's portraits that extra "punch". And the department and mall studios simply do not do it!
All of our portrait artwork is done in house, so we have absolute control over the finished product. You are going to love how good your baby looks!
Now, I Know What You Are Thinking. "Give Me A Break. This Is Just A Photo."
Well, yes, but these are the portraits of your baby's first year of life, and you will never, ever, have this opportunity again. And, all the people who matter to you are going to see these portraits! So, let's make sure they are fantastic! Let's make sure they are the best they can be. Sound good?
It's not whether we use film or digital. It's not about the cameras, or the lenses, or the props or backgrounds (although we use the best money can buy!). The thing that separates us is how sincerely we want your baby to look her absolute best - better than you could ever imagine in her first year portraits.
Secret #5 Is Critically Important To How Natural Your Baby Appears In The Portraits!
Most parents don't realize that sometimes, "today is just not the day" for my baby's portrait to be done. Your baby may be cranky. Or maybe your baby didn't sleep well last night. Or perhaps you've had too many stresses at home. Or maybe one of you is sick today, etc.
Well, we understand this. We honestly understand that the day we set up for your photography may end up not being the best day, when it arrives, for whatever reason. And we have absolutely no problem with you calling us and rescheduling the session, if "today just isn't the day." We WANT YOU TO DO THAT!
You see, one of the unique things about us, is how easy and fun we are to work with. So, for example, let's say we schedule your baby's portraits session for Tuesday, the 15th at 3:30 p.m., and you wake up that Tuesday, and just "doesn't feel right," your baby isn't cooperating that morning, and you're really tired, too.
Well, just give us a call. We will immediately understand and know exactly what you mean. And we will reschedule the session for you - no problem.
Now, we are terribly busy, and booked up, BUT, WE DON'T TREAT YOU LIKE A FACTORY. We understand. We won't make you feel guilty. Why? Because we've been doing this for over 20 years, and we completely understand exactly how you feel! It's no problem at all.
We understand this is a once-in-a-life-time portrait, and it's got to be done right.
